MedLite Laser Treatment

Pigmentation in the skin, whether from sun exposure, hormonal change, or post-inflammatory marks, is concentrated melanin. Breaking that concentration requires a laser that is both powerful enough to reach and target it and precise enough not to damage the surrounding tissue. MedLite is designed for exactly this purpose.

The MedLite is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that delivers ultra-short, high-energy pulses of light at two wavelengths: 1064 nm for deeper targets and 532 nm for superficial pigment and vascular concerns. The rapid pulse shatters the melanin granules into particles small enough for the body’s immune system to clear naturally over a few sessions The surrounding tissue is not affected. The result is a targeted, progressive reduction in pigmentation with no ablation of the skin surface.

MedLite is also effective for tattoo removal and the treatment of vascular lesions. At AAYNA, it is used as part of a considered plan, often alongside other brightening treatments for compounded results.

Steps of MedLite Treatment

Step 1

Skin Assessment

Your specialist assesses the pigmentation: type, depth, distribution, and skin tone. The wavelength, fluence, and number of passes are selected accordingly.

Step 2

Eye Protection

Protective eyewear is provided for both the client and the specialist before any laser energy is applied.

Step 3

Laser Treatment

The MedLite handpiece is moved systematically across the treatment area. Each pulse delivers a brief, sharp sensation, typically described as a mild snap. The session is well-tolerated by most clients.

Step 4

Calm and Protect

A soothing serum and SPF are applied. Mild redness or a greyish cast over treated pigment spots is normal and resolves within a few hours to a few days. The pigment will darken briefly before it begins to fade.

Feel Beautiful. Feel Confident.

FAQs

MedLite Laser Treatment

What types of pigmentation does MedLite treat?

Sun spots, age spots, freckles, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma (in combination with other treatments), café-au-lait marks, and some vascular lesions. Tattoo removal is also an application.

How many sessions are needed?

Three to six sessions for most pigmentation concerns, spaced four to six weeks apart. Melasma and deeper pigmentation may require a longer course. Tattoo removal typically requires more sessions depending on ink colour and density.

Is there downtime?

Minimal. Treated pigment spots darken for two to five days before beginning to fade. Mild redness resolves within hours. Sun avoidance and SPF are essential during the treatment course.

Is MedLite safe for darker Indian skin tones?

Yes, with appropriate settings. The 1064 nm wavelength is better absorbed by melanin than by the surrounding tissue, and at AAYNA, fluence is calibrated conservatively for darker skin tones to avoid post-inflammatory pigmentation. Your specialist will advise on the most appropriate protocol for your skin.

How is MedLite different from ClearLift?

Both use Q-switched Nd:YAG technology, but they are configured differently. MedLite focuses on pigment and vascular targets at the surface and upper dermis. ClearLift uses a fractional pattern to address collagen, laxity, and deeper structural concerns alongside pigmentation. Your specialist will recommend the appropriate technology based on your skin’s primary concern.
