The AAYNA Lift vs Ultherapy: Which Is Better?

You’re on a video call, half listening, and you notice your jawline doesn’t look the way it did two years ago. Maybe you catch yourself pulling your cheek back with two fingers to see what “before” looked like. It’s a very common moment, and it’s usually when people start googling lifting treatments and land on the same question: Ultherapy or something newer?

Both are good answers. They just solve slightly different problems. Here’s how we think about it at AAYNA.

The short answer

Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to work deeply, at the SMAS layer (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System), the same layer a plastic surgeon addresses in a facelift. The AAYNA Lift, our name for the Density treatment, uses sequential radiofrequency (monopolar first, then bipolar) to tighten and firm the skin while building collagen over the following months.

Roughly speaking, Ultherapy is a deep structural lift. The AAYNA Lift is a firmer, fresher look now, with continued improvement after. Which one you need depends on your skin, your concern, and how much laxity you’re dealing with.

What is Ultherapy, and where does it shine?

Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with visualisation (MFU-V). Your specialist can see the tissue layers on a screen and deliver energy at three depths: 1.5 mm (dermis), 3 mm (subcutaneous tissue) and 4.5 mm (SMAS).

It’s a strong choice when:

  • Sagging is more established, in the brow, jawline, neck or chest
  • You want a structural result without surgery
  • You’re happy to wait, as results build over three to six months and typically last twelve to eighteen months

It has earned its reputation, and we still recommend it where the anatomy calls for it.

What is The AAYNA Lift?

The AAYNA Lift is built on Density, a US FDA-approved radiofrequency system. What sets it apart is sequential heating. In a single pass, it delivers monopolar RF, which heats deeper tissue and drives long-term change, followed by bipolar RF, which works in the upper layers of skin for a visible tightening effect soon after.

There’s also a physics reason this works well. As tissue warms, its resistance drops, so the bipolar energy that follows travels more easily, even at lower energy levels.

Where The AAYNA Lift stands out

  • You see something sooner. The bipolar phase gives a visible tightening effect right after the session, while the monopolar phase keeps remodelling collagen over the next four to six months. Ultherapy’s payoff is slower and more gradual by design.
  • It’s built for finer concerns too. Fine lines, skin texture, enlarged pores and early laxity respond well to Density’s High tip, which works at more superficial depths. The Classic tip goes deeper for firmer, longer-term remodelling. Your doctor picks the tip based on your skin thickness and what you want to change.
  • The delicate areas are covered. Density has dedicated eye tips designed for the thin skin around the eyes, which is a place many lifting treatments avoid.
  • Comfort is part of the design. Density uses an adjustable cryogen cooling system, and clinical experience from the device’s practitioners rates the High tip at a lower discomfort level than deeper-energy approaches. Ultherapy is usually made manageable with numbing cream and pain relief taken beforehand. Both are doable, and your doctor will talk you through what to expect.
  • Less time in the chair. Ultherapy sessions at AAYNA run 60 to 90 minutes. A full-face Density session is designed to move faster, thanks to its auto-pulsing mode. [Confirm AAYNA’s actual session time.]
  • Back to your day. Some mild redness is possible after treatment and usually settles within hours. Most people go straight back to work.

LongevityTypically 12–18 monthsContinued remodelling over 4–6 months, lasting up to about 12 months
DowntimeMild redness; occasional tenderness for a few daysMild redness, usually settling within hours

Can you combine Density Treatment and Ultherapy?

Sometimes, yes. Some people do a deeper lift first and follow up with radiofrequency for refinement. Others pair The AAYNA Lift with collagen stimulators such as PLLA or CaHA for a longer-lasting effect. That call belongs to your doctor after an assessment, not to a blog post.

So, which one should you choose?

Think of it this way:

  • Ultherapy may suit you if your main concern is noticeable sagging in the brow, neck or jawline and you want the deepest non-surgical option.
  • The AAYNA Lift may suit you if you want tighter, firmer skin sooner, have fine lines, texture or pores to work on, are treating the eye area, or want a comfortable, quick session.
  • Not sure? That’s the most common answer, and it’s why we start with a consultation.

Density Treatment FAQs

  1. Is The AAYNA Lift the same as Density?
Yes. Density is the device. The AAYNA Lift is how we offer the treatment at our clinics.
  2. Is The AAYNA Lift better than Ultherapy?
Neither is better across the board. They work at different depths and suit different concerns. Your doctor will recommend the one that fits your face.
  3. Does Th e AAYNA Lift hurt?
Most people describe it as a warm, tolerable sensation, and adjustable cooling helps. Sensitivity varies from person to person.
  4. How long do results last?
It varies with your skin, age and lifestyle. Density results build over several months and can last up to around a year. Ultherapy typically lasts twelve to eighteen months.
  5. Is there downtime?
Very little for either. Mild redness may appear and usually settles within hours.

Note: Results vary by individual skin type, age, lifestyle and health history.
