DERMOSCOPY

This is a non invasive diagnostic procedure which helps us perceive microstructures of the epidermis and skin not visible to the naked eye thus helping us come to a confirmatory diagnosis. This is done with a handheld device which magnifies the substructures of the skin. Each condition has their unique pattern of features which help us confirm our diagnosis.

The dermoscope can be used to diagnose:

Skin problems

Pigmented lesions

Different types of mole can be diagnosed and it helps monitor melanomas (skin cancer).

Dermoscopy-Hairloss

Hair loss disorders

Popularly known as trichoscopy, helps diagnose different causes for hair loss so that appropriate treatment can be given for the best results.

Inflammatory disorders

Dermatological conditions like Psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and lichen planus can be diagnosed and helps monitor the disease progress.
